Two new statues have been erected along Sayyad Shirazi Highway and Ayatollah Kashani Avenue.
Mojtaba Mousavi, official in charge of volume works at Tehran Beautification Organization, announced that Ayatollah Kashani’s work in District 5 is an abstract work by Mohammad Reza Zabihollah-Zadeh while that of Sayyad Shirazi Highway in district 7 is also an abstract work showing resistance which has been worked out by Parisa Khazaei.
He added that both works are made of iron, are 3 m high and have been chosen through calls by Tehran Beautification Organization.
The official in charge of volume works at Tehran Beautification Organization also stated that districts 5 and 7 are the poorest districts of Tehran in terms of volume works and statues and during the past few years new works have been erected in them.
Mousavi added that a statue of Safavid-era painter, Reza Abbasi, made by Morteza Ne’matollahi has been erected along Shariati Avenue near Reza Abbasi Museum and a statue of Shahid Beheshti made by Bijan Ne’mati has been erected at Shahid Beheshti Avenue. Both works are located in district 7.
