Persian gardens to adorn Oxford Uni.
:: aruna

Iranian artists are slated to adorn the UK's Oxford University with a combination of townscape and relaxing eyecatcher architecture.

Iran's Historical Sites Research Center will build two Persian gardens on the roof and the campus of the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies.

The gardens will display the Iranian culture through a combination of Persian architecture, arboriculture, ornamental floriculture and waterscapes.

Water and sunlight are the main elements of Persian gardens which have influenced many famous gardens in the region namely the Taj Mahal.

The oldest recorded Persian garden was built by Cyrus the Great in the Achaemenid capital of Pasargadae.
